Converse and New Order

I grew up listening to New Order and they were very inspiring for me to make music. I’ve always admired their punk attitude about DIY (doing it yourself). It wasn’t about being a technically proficient musician but about heart and mind – something I can relate to. I’m also influenced by Bernard Sumner’s singing as well. It’s always been about staying honest and authentic. It’s disheartening to hear his story of an old boss belittling him for reading poetry. People should be allowed to follow their dreams and indulge in creative pursuits that are meaningful to them. I never wore Converse shoes though.
